Bethune-Cookman University’s softball team secured its third straight series win after splitting a doubleheader against Alabama State. The Wildcats bounced back from an opening loss to take game two decisively. They will conclude their regular season against Alabama A&M.
Mia Gonzalez has been named SWAC Newcomer of the Week for a second time this season. The freshman played a key role in Bethune-Cookman’s series win over Jackson State University. The team will face Alabama State next.
Bethune-Cookman’s Erick Almonte has been named SWAC Hitter of the Week after key performances that included an upset over LSU. The senior shortstop recorded eight hits and ten RBI across four games.
