Rosalida Asumwa and Ariel Bland have been named Wildcats of the Week for February 16-22 after notable performances in their respective sports.

Asumwa contributed to the women’s tennis team’s win over Edward Waters, securing a singles victory in straight sets (6-1, 6-1) and winning a doubles match with partner Maria Romero Vargas (6-2). The team rebounded from a loss to Stetson earlier in the week.

Ariel Bland, a senior, has shown consistent play throughout the season. In February, he recorded 44 rebounds—including a season-high 13 against Alabama State—15 assists, 10 blocks, and 48 points. He also achieved season highs in field goals attempted and made (5-6) during the game against Alabama A&M.

The Wildcats of the Week program recognizes student-athletes for outstanding performances across various sports each week throughout the academic year. Past honorees include athletes from softball, baseball, basketball, track & field, volleyball, football, cross country, tennis, and golf.
