B-CU Golf Returns as Wildcats Open in Huntsville

After a rocky few years in limbo, one of the most historic programs in HBCU golf history is back on the links this weekend, as the Wildcats open the fall season at Robert Trent Jones at Hampton Cove Sunday through Tuesday, Oct. 30-Nov. 1 in Huntsville, Ala.

For decades, Bethune-Cookman’s golf programs were among the elite of HBCU golf, winning a combined 27 PGA Works National Championships with roster of student-athletes who represented both on and off the course.

Now, under first year head coach Harry Stokes, the program seems primed for a revival.

The 2022-23 roster includes three returners in Kamary Leaf, Kyleigh Leaf, and All-SWAC Second Team honoree Emma Hastie.

Newcomers include freshman Jordan Davis and Skylar Kew, a Gold Medalist at the 2021 OFSAA Girls Golf Festival.

The Wildcats were originally scheduled to open play at the beginning of October, but displacement from Hurricane Ian forced B-CU to remain home.
