Bethune-Cookman sweeps all four SWAC weekly track and field awards

Bethune-Cookman University’s track and field team secured all four Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Weekly Awards after their recent performances in Gainesville, Alabama. The announcement was made by the SWAC on January 28, 2026.

Sha’Nard Walker received the SWAC Male Track Athlete of the Week honor following his first-place finish in the 300-meter event at the Alachua County Sports and Event Center Invitational. Walker clocked a time of 33.45 seconds, improving on his previous season best.

Jordan Riche was named SWAC Male Field Athlete of the Week after placing second in the weight throw with a mark of 16.47 meters.

Kasie Ugeh earned recognition as SWAC Female Field Athlete of the Week for her second-place finish in the weight throw, recording a distance of 12.71 meters.

Amani Jones was awarded SWAC Female Track Athlete of the Week after finishing among the top five in the 200-meter race with a time of 25.00 seconds.

The Wildcats will compete again on February 9 at the Celebration Pointe Classic in Gainesville.
