Bethune-Cookman University will conclude its regular season by hosting the Alabama A&M Bulldogs at Sunnyland Park, with the series beginning on April 24. The opening game is scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
This final home series carries significance as both teams look to end their seasons on a strong note. Bethune-Cookman, holding a record of 17-26 overall and 13-8 in conference play, seeks to maintain momentum after recent performances.
In their last outing, the Wildcats started strong by scoring four runs in the first inning against Alabama State. Janel Morrisey drove in the first run with an RBI single, followed by Alana Cypress and Arianna Reynolds contributing additional runs. The team extended its lead throughout the game, ultimately securing victory as Mia Gonzalez and Sofia Coleman limited Alabama State’s offense to just one run on six hits.
The visiting Bulldogs enter the weekend with a conference record of 6-15 and sit fifth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s east division. While they have struggled defensively—holding a .933 fielding percentage and leading the league with 96 errors—Alabama A&M has shown strength offensively, ranking among league leaders in several batting categories. Kali Austerman stands out for her performance this season, leading the SWAC in hits, doubles, triples, home runs, and runs batted in.
Historically, Bethune-Cookman has dominated this matchup. Earlier this year they swept Alabama A&M to extend their all-time winning streak over the Bulldogs to fourteen games; overall AAMU is just two wins against twenty-three losses when facing Bethune-Cookman.
