Bethune-Cookman University’s women’s tennis team is set to face Stetson University on Tuesday, March 3, at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center in DeLand, Florida. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. EST. The Wildcats will then play against St. John’s University on Wednesday, March 4, at the Crotty Tennis Complex in Daytona Beach, with the match beginning at 11 a.m. EST.

Recently, Bethune-Cookman secured a 5-2 victory over UMary in Daytona Beach. In doubles play, Rosalida Asumwa and Maria Romero Vargas won their match 6-4 against UMary’s top pair. Anna and Josie Sueflohn of UMary claimed a 7-5 win over Zahara El-Zein and Jalayah Shaw in the second doubles match. Since Bethune-Cookman did not field a third doubles team, UMary was awarded the doubles point.

In singles competition, Bethune-Cookman performed strongly. Jalayah Shaw defeated Natalie Jorge Magarzo 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. All other singles matches were completed in straight sets as Bethune-Cookman earned its second win of the season.

Stetson enters the upcoming match with a record of 4-4 after a recent 7-0 win over Eastern Michigan. Anastasija Adeikyte has been a key player for Stetson this season, having lost only once in both singles and doubles matches.

St. John’s holds an 8-3 record this year and is currently on a three-game winning streak. The Red Storm are undefeated in Big East play with wins over UConn and Providence. Sandra Dzhambazov has emerged as a standout player for St. John’s, boasting an eleven-duel winning streak and only one loss this season.
