These former East Volusia County area high school athletes will take part in events on Tuesday, April 14.

Bethune-Cookman University track & field athletes claimed two event wins at the South Florida Invitational on Apr. 12 alongside several top-three finishes across multiple disciplines.

These ex-East Volusia County area high school athletes will be competing in the week starting Monday, April 13.

Bethune-Cookman’s softball team swept Jackson State in a doubleheader at Sunnyland Park on April 11. Strong pitching limited JSU to two runs across both games as B-CU secured its fourth SWAC series win.

Bethune-Cookman’s baseball team swept Mississippi Valley State with strong offense during Saturday’s doubleheader. The Wildcats scored 28 combined runs across both games and recorded several standout performances at Magnolia Field.

Bethune-Cookman secured a close 5-4 victory over Jackson State with three home runs, including one inside-the-park effort from Erick Almonte. Sergio Rivera’s late homer proved decisive as Justin Morales closed out another scoreless appearance.

Bethune-Cookman’s softball team is set for a three-game series at Mississippi Valley State starting Wednesday. The Wildcats look to extend their winning streak against the struggling Delta Devils.

Demetria Frank has been named head coach of Bethune-Cookman’s women’s basketball team after serving at George Mason University. She returns as one of the school’s most decorated alumni both on court and on staff.

Justin Morales has been named SWAC Co-Newcomer of the Week after helping secure a series win against Jackson State. This is his first weekly award this season and adds to his team’s list of honors.

Southern defeated Bethune-Cookman 7-3 thanks to a pivotal seventh inning surge at Lee-Hines Stadium. Strong pitching performances highlighted both sides as errors proved costly for B-CU. Game two is set for tomorrow afternoon.
