Bethune-Cookman University did not increase tuition fees for the 2022-23 school year, as revealed in the latest institutional report, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Students enrolled at the private, not-for-profit university paid $14,794 in tuition for both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

Approximately 75% of the undergraduate student body at Bethune-Cookman University are residents of Florida. Students from other states make up about 21%, while international students account for 4%.

Data indicates that 99% of full-time undergraduates who began studies at Bethune-Cookman University in the 2022-23 academic year received some form of student financial aid. Specifically, 939 students were awarded grants or scholarships totaling $14.2 million, and 813 students obtained student loans amounting to more than $5.3 million.

Across the entire undergraduate population, 2,516 students received grants or scholarships totaling $35.4 million. Additionally, 2,081 students borrowed $13.9 million in federal student loans.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
