The Volusia County Council voted not to change the cost of the beach driving tolls and instructed staff to explore options to implement a fee for non-Volusia County residents’ use of the county’s off-beach parking facilities.
The county currently charges $20 for a daily beach pass regardless of resident status. Verified Volusia County residents, college students and property owners are charged $25 for an annual beach pass. Residents who purchase a daily pass but then decide to upgrade to the annual pass may do so by paying the additional $5 and providing their daily pass receipt.
Non-residents and visitors can purchase an annual pass for $100. Those with a disabled person license plate, a disabled person blue parking placard or a disabled veteran license plate, regardless of residency, are eligible to receive a complimentary annual or daily pass.
Currently, the county has approximately 2,100 non-ADA accessible, off-beach parking spots available to all beachgoers at no charge. An additional 65 spaces will be added next year when the Sun & Surf Park opens in Daytona Beach.
