Senior guard Jakobi Heady has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Impact Player of the Week for a second consecutive time, according to an announcement from the conference headquarters on Tuesday.
Heady played a key role as the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats secured their second-ever outright regular season title. This achievement is also notable as it is their first such title since joining the SWAC. Over the weekend, Heady scored 37 points, making 10 out of 18 shots and going a perfect 15-for-15 at the free throw line. He also recorded 12 rebounds, four assists, one block, and four steals in victories against Grambling State and Southern.
This recognition marks Bethune-Cookman University’s sixth weekly honor this season and is Heady’s fifth individual award.
The Wildcats are scheduled to conclude their regular season with a game at Florida A&M on Thursday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m.
