SBA loans available for Hurricane Nicole victims

Residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations and homeowner associations impacted by Hurricane Nicole may apply for a loan through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Loans are available to assist with physical property damage and economic injury.

Currently, disaster loans are available for those impacted by Hurricanes Ian and Nicole. If affected by both storms, an application must be separately submitted. The application deadline by storm and type of loan is as follows:

  • Hurricane Ian- Physical Property Damage: Jan. 12, 2023
  • Hurricane Ian- Economic Injury: June 29, 2023
  • Hurricane Nicole- Physical Property Damage: Feb. 13, 2023
  • Hurricane Nicole- Economic Injury: Sept. 13, 2023

The 12-month deferred payments with zero interest accruing during the loan’s first year apply equally to both Hurricanes Ian and Nicole’s loans. 

Residents may apply for a loan online at disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela. Residents may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information. SBA representatives are also available in the Disaster Recovery Center at the Florida Department of Health-Volusia, 1845 Holsonback Drive, Daytona Beach.

Disaster Recovery Center’s holiday closures

The Disaster Recover Center at the Florida Department of Health-Volusia, 1845 Holsonback Drive, Daytona Beach, will be closed from Friday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Dec. 26, and again the following week from Friday, Dec. 30, through Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. Residents may learn more about the DRC’s availability and apply anytime online at disasterassistance.gov or the FEMA mobile app.
