The Daytona State Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams head to Tallahassee Saturday, November 12th for the NJCAA Cross Country National Championships. The Women’s race starts at 8:30 AM and the Men’s race begins at 10:00 AM, both races take place at Apalachee Regional Park.

The Women’s team has been led by Shannon Jones, the Region 8 Runner of the Year, and she is joined by two other All-Region 8 team, Harleigh Crist and Giovana Meade.

The Men’s team, most recently ranked 6th in the country, are led by two-time national runner of the week, Sebastain Hernandez, and teammate Christian Ruocco, who was also named an NJCAA runner of the week.

Over 50 schools will compete for the national title. Coach Judy Wilson, now in her fifth year, likes her team’s home field advantage. “We know this course and we have run it many times, but we also know that we have to run smart and run tough.”
