City of New Smyrna Beach issued the following announcement on March 2.

The Planning & Zoning Board, made up of seven resident volunteers, will host their next regular meeting on Monday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the James W. Hathaway Chambers at 214 Sams Ave. to consider the following items:

  • Zoning text amendment adding ‘Places of Assembly’ as a special exception use in mixed-use zones; staff recommends approval
  • Site plan approval for a 110-space parking lot on two undeveloped Ocean Village Shopping Center outparcels along S. Atlantic Avenue; staff recommends approval
  • Three voluntary annexation requests from 1070 10th St., 1506 Enterprise Ave., and 2476 Pioneer Trail; staff recommends approval
  • Zoning text amendments under Land Development Regulations, Sec. 604.09 Off-street parking, loading, and driveways; staff recommends approval
  • Zoning text amendment establishing regulations on the review and approval of proposed murals; staff recommends approval
  • Discussion on the Class III Site Plan approval process • Nomination and election of the 2022 chair and vice chair
  • March 2022 Development Activity Report
