Coral Springs is located in Broward County, approximately 20 miles northwest of Fort Lauderdale, and 10 miles southwest of Boca Raton. Chartered as a city July 10, 1963, today Coral Springs has a population of more than 121,000 residents. Coral Springs is governed by a five-member City Commission, which sets the policy for the city, and a city manager, who is appointed to oversee the daily operation of Coral Springs. Erdal Donmez is the city manager while the five city commissioners are Mayor Roy Gold, Vice Mayor Tom Powers, Vince Boccard, Claudette Bruck and Larry Vignola.
