Join us on Monday, May 2 at 6 p.m. in the New Smyrna Beach Garden Club at 2000 Turnbull Bay Rd. when Maintenance Operations Director David Ray hosts an open house for a new dog park slated to be built adjacent to the club’s parking lot.

David will give a brief overview of the project, take questions and comments, and lead a walkthrough of the site with future fence lines marked on the grass to give attendees a sense of the park’s size and scope. The current proposal calls for a 202 x 136 ft. park with areas for both small & large dogs serviced by potable water, light poles, and four gates surrounded by a 6 ft. tall chain link fence.

The new dog park was approved on April 12 by city commissioners as a replacement for amenities installed on Turnbull Street Park, which was ordered closed effective July 5 last year due to concerns raised by nearby residents.
