City of New Smyrna Beach recently issued the following announcement.

Last week, postcards were mailed to all Waste Pro customers residing in the City of New Smyrna Beach with the following information.

Effective immediately, please place glass in the trash and not the recycling bin until further notice. Due to a lack of available outlets that will currently recycle glass, it is temporarily no longer being accepted as part of your recycling.

New Smyrna Beach’s recycling program will continue collection of plastics (#1-5), metal cans, newspapers, white paper, junk mail, magazines, and clean cardboard.

If you have questions or need more information, please call Waste Pro at (386) 424-1850.
