On Saturday, Nov. 22, former Seabreeze High School standout Latrae Bass’ current collegiate team the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls lost 7-21 against the Frostburg State Bobcats in the NCAA Division II Football Championship.
The game took place at Irwin Belk Complex at 1 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Frostburg State Bobcats in the tournament.
Sofia Vallejos-Coleman and Michael Rodriguez were named Bethune-Cookman’s Wildcats of the Week for April 20-26. The weekly award honors student-athletes excelling in sports performance as well as academics and community service.
Florida A&M secured a narrow win over Bethune-Cookman after coming back late in Saturday’s high-scoring baseball game. Andrey Martinez hit his fiftieth career home run as both teams traded leads throughout nine innings.
These former East Volusia County area high school standouts are scheduled to compete the week starting Monday, April 27.
