Riverside United Presbyterian Church issued the following announcement on July 14.
This is a big week for the youth and children of RPC. Our high schoolers are at Montreat Youth Conference (look for a post tomorrow), while our children are participating in Vacation Bible School and Summer in the City.
We are so excited for our children to learn more about what it means to change the world with loving kindness. And we are of course grateful to all of our youth volunteers (mostly middle schoolers!) Today's theme was "Compassion helps me THRIVE." There are Bible stories, activities, music, games and of course, snacks!
Our older children (4th + 5th graders) are participating in our Summer in the City program this week. They start and end with fun and games but don't let that fool you! Each day they go out into the city to serve and learn about different ways in which they can support and love their neighbors. On Monday, they worked with the St. Johns River Keeper and today they served at DESC (Downtown Ecumenical Services Council).
