What legacy would you like to leave in New Smyrna Beach? Ready to develop your ideas inside City Hall instead of on social media? Volunteer to serve on a city advisory board today! Please see our current openings below, visit http://bit.ly/3l41dpk for a full list of advisory boards, and contact the City Clerk's Office at clerk@cityofnsb.com or (386) 410-2630 for further details.

Building Trades Examining Board: Two (2) Vacancies, three-year terms set to expire on January 1, 2024

The Building Trades Examining Board is composed of seven members with two alternate members. Building Trades Board members must be residents of Volusia County. Regular board members must have knowledge and experience in technical codes;  such as design professionals, contractors or building industry representatives.

The alternate board members define that one must be an at large member of the building industry and one must be an at large member of the general public. No member may serve more than two consecutive terms unless waived by the City Commission. The board makes determinations regarding applications for certificates of registration and recommends amendments to the various codes and regulatory standards that bear upon the construction industry and building trades in general. The board meets as required.
