Women's Cross Country Taking Big Steps

7

Daytona State College issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.

Daytona State womens cross country took big steps forward Saturday at the Embry Riddle Invitational.  Placing two runners in the top 10 (Harleigh Crist, 7th, and Juliet St Angelo

8th)  the Falcons placed 5th out of 11 teams and were the top junior college in the meet.  "We were only 12 points out of 3rd today.  If we can work on our focus during the race, we

should have a good  chance going into the National Meet in November. " Coach Judy Wilson commented.  Running in her second meet for the Falcons, freshman Ayanna Fulton

placed 32nd with a time of 22:07.  " The times on this course are a bit slower due to the hills and footing.  It is the hardest course we run all year. " commented Coach Judy Wilson.

Rounding out the squad for the Falcons was Nathaly Abastida, 48th place, Audrey Moros, 56th place, Kennedy Arterburn in 65th place, and Angel Khrino in 67th place.
