City of Daytona Beach Shores recently issued the following announcement.
Three tennis courts at the Daytona Beach Shores Community Center Tennis Courts will be closed temporarily, beginning Wednesday, April 6, for a renovation project to improve Court 6. The project is expected to take approximately one week to complete.
A fence barrier will be removed and a shade covering will be added to the seating area at Court 6, making the court design and layout uniform with the five other clay courts. The upgrades will be done by a contractor.
Because the underground water system that moistens the clay for Courts 4, 5 and 6 must be turned off during the project, those three courts will be closed temporarily during construction.
While the three courts are closed, the city will temporarily halt its tennis court reservations for those courts. Courts 1, 2 and 3 will be available for Daytona Beach Shores residents to reserve from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and Courts 1, 2 and 3 will be available for the remainder of the day for open play. The Round Robin will continue to be offered on Courts 1, 2 and 3 from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sundays.
The City of Daytona Beach Shores appreciates residents’ understanding and patience as it completes this important facility upgrade.
