Corie Charpentier, Ph.D., will kick off the Daytona Beach Regional Library’s monthly speaker series at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, with a discussion of biodiversity in local waterways, notably Volusia County’s Mosquito Lagoon.
A marine biologist and assistant professor at Stetson University, Dr. Charpentier conducts research in the ecology and physiology of coastal organisms and ecosystems.

The library is open seven days a week at 105 Jackie Robinson Parkway. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
