Help chart the future course of New Smyrna Beach while gaining valuable insight and experience by applying to serve on our Planning & Zoning Board before Dec. 5. There is currently one vacant seat to fill with a term set to expire Oct. 31, 2024.
The Planning & Zoning Board is composed of seven members who must be residents of the City. The board reviews site plans, subdivision plats and variance requests; the board also reviews and makes recommendations to the City Commission on street vacations and any other matters referred to them by the City Commission; the board also reviews and makes recommendations on comprehensive plan amendments, Land Development Regulation amendments and annexations, etc. The board meets on the first Monday of each month in the James W. Hathaway Chambers at 214 Sams Ave.
