TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis has received twenty-nine bills from the Florida Legislature today. The Governor now has until May 1, 2024, to act on these bills.
The bills cover a wide range of topics and issues, including but not limited to interception and disclosure of oral communications, digital voyeurism, artificial intelligence use in political advertising, juvenile justice, career and technical education, special districts, duties and prohibited acts associated with death, exemption from regulation for nonprofit organizations, school chaplains, schemes to defraud, patriotic organizations, HIV infection prevention drugs, state university unexpended funds, excusal from jury service, mobile home park lot tenancies, debt relief services, hope cards for persons issued orders of protection, tracking devices and applications, sheriffs in consolidated governments, electronic access to official records, advanced technology, career-themed courses, young adult aftercare services, forensic investigative genetic genealogy grant program, value of motor vehicles exempt from legal process, gaming licenses and permits, campaign finance, and history of communism.
Governor DeSantis now has the important task of reviewing and deciding on these bills before the deadline.
