Governor Ron DeSantis Receives Twenty Bills from the Florida Legislature

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis received twenty bills from the Florida Legislature. The Governor now has until May 7, 2024, to act on these bills.

The bills cover a wide range of topics, reflecting the diverse legislative agenda in Florida. Among the bills received are measures addressing pretrial detention hearings, Florida red tide mitigation, public records, school safety, court interpreter services, regulation of commercial motor vehicles, health care practitioners, and many more.

In a statement, Governor DeSantis emphasized the importance of carefully reviewing each bill before making a decision. The Governor's office will now begin the process of evaluating the implications and potential impacts of each piece of legislation.

The bills received include HB 7067 on pretrial detention hearings, CS/CS/HB 1565 on Florida Red Tide Mitigation and Technology Development Initiative, CS/CS/HB 1509 on public records, and CS/CS/HB 1473 on school safety, among others.
