Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis recently hosted the Second Annual Florida Heroes’ Reception at the Florida Governor’s Residence to honor and celebrate the selfless contributions of 75 remarkable individuals from across the state of Florida.
Governor DeSantis expressed his gratitude towards the heroes in attendance, stating, “This evening it was a privilege to recognize and personally thank each Florida hero in attendance for their selfless dedication to their communities and our state.” First Lady Casey DeSantis also shared her pride in showcasing the inspiring stories of the honorees, which included first responders, community leaders, foster parents, veterans, doctors, and more.
Among the heroes recognized were Detective Paul Osborn and K9 Jon Jon from Tallahassee, Special Agent Jeremy Horn from Pensacola, Officer Kelsey Dalton from Tampa, and Dr. Sylvia Iriondo from Miami. Each hero had their story highlighted during the ceremony, emphasizing their bravery, compassion, and resilience in the face of adversity.
The event aimed to highlight the virtues of selflessness and service, with the First Lady stating, “We were glad to highlight the inspiring stories of first responders, community leaders, foster parents, veterans, doctors, and others.”
The Governor’s Residence displayed the stories of each hero, showcasing their remarkable achievements and contributions to their communities. The list of the 2024 Florida Heroes included individuals from various professions such as law enforcement, healthcare, education, and philanthropy, all of whom have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of others.
The recognition ceremony served as a platform to appreciate and celebrate the exceptional courage and dedication of these individuals who have made a significant impact on the state of Florida.
