Governor Ron DeSantis issued a memorandum on Monday, April 29, 2024, directing flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Pasco County Commissioner Gary Bradford. Commissioner Bradford passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 65 after battling leukemia.

Commissioner Bradford, who was elected in 2022 to represent District 4 of Pasco County, had a distinguished career in public service. Before his time as a commissioner, he served the State of Florida for over 25 years with the Tampa Police Department and later advocated for law enforcement with the Florida Police Benevolent Association for 15 years. Governor DeSantis highlighted Bradford's commitment to public safety and crime prevention.

In the memorandum, Governor DeSantis expressed his condolences, stating, "He leaves behind his loving wife Debbie, his son Daniel, and his daughters Melissa and Jessica."

As a tribute to Commissioner Bradford's service and dedication, flags at the Pasco County Courthouse in New Port Richey, Florida, the City Hall of New Port Richey, Florida, and the State Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida will be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
