Governor Ron DeSantis Reappoints Three to the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the reappointment of Jason Barrett, Jessica Costello, and Carlos de la Cruz Jr. to the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet.

Barrett, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Texas Healthcare System, brings a wealth of experience to the Cabinet. He is actively involved in his community, holding positions such as a member of the University of North Florida Board of Trustees and Chair of the St. Johns Economic Development Council.

Costello, a Judge for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, has a background as an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor for the Florida Office of the Attorney General. Her dedication to public service and recognition as a "Top 10 Under 40" in 2022 by Tampa Magazine highlight her commitment to the well-being of Florida's children and youth.

De la Cruz Jr., a retired Executive and Shareholder for De la Cruz Companies, is deeply engaged in community initiatives. As a founding member of the American Gateway Chapter for Young Presidents Organization and Chairman of The Everglades Foundation Board of Directors, he brings a strategic and visionary approach to the Cabinet's work.

The Governor's reappointment of these three individuals underscores his commitment to addressing the needs and challenges faced by Florida's children and youth. The diverse backgrounds and experiences of Barrett, Costello, and De la Cruz Jr. will undoubtedly contribute to the effectiveness of the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet in promoting the well-being of young people across the state.
