Track and Field athletes Darryn Hough and Andrew Kiplagat have been named Wildcats of the Week for January 26 to February 1, 2026, following their performances at recent competitions.

Hough, a freshman, finished third in the Women’s High Jump at The Legends of Alachua County Invitational by clearing 1.56 meters (5 feet, 1.25 inches). She has previously placed fifth at the Gamecock Opener and fifteenth at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational earlier this spring.

Kiplagat set a new program record in the men’s 5K with a time of 14:24.25 over the weekend. Earlier in January, he was recognized as SWAC Track-Athlete of the Week after setting another program record and taking first place in the 3000m event. As a junior, he is considered an early contender for Outstanding Track Performer of the Year.

Each week, Bethune-Cookman’s Office of Athletic Communications selects one male and one female student-athlete for the Wildcats of the Week award. According to the Office, “This award recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in competition, in the classroom, and in the community over the past week, exemplifying the Championship Culture of Wildcat Athletics.”

The list of weekly honorees includes athletes from track and field, basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, cross country, and golf across both men’s and women’s sports.
