The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats men’s and women’s track and field teams participated in the Alachua County Sports and Event Center Invitational and Multi-Event in Gainesville, Florida on Friday and Saturday. The teams secured several top-three finishes during the competition.
Shanard Walker led the men’s team by winning the 300-meter race with a time of 33.45 seconds. Jordan Riche finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 16.47 meters, while Donovan Walker-Collins took second place in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:22.31.
Other notable performances for the men’s team included William Rothmiller, who placed third in the shot put at 14.31 meters, and Anton Holland, who finished third in the weight throw with a distance of 16.11 meters.
On the women’s side, Kasie Ugeh was runner-up in the weight throw at 12.71 meters, and Ay’Keelah Green finished third in the pentathlon with a score of 3059 points. Amani Jones achieved a top-five finish in the 200-meter race with a time of 25.00 seconds.
The event saw additional participants from both teams competing across sprints, jumps, throws, and multi-events.
