The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats are set to compete in the Alachua County Sports and Event Center Invitational and Multi-Event this Friday and Saturday in Gainesville, Florida. The first events will begin at 9 a.m. each day.
At their previous meet, the Jimmy Carnes Invitational held at the same venue, Shanard Walker delivered a notable performance for the Wildcats. Walker finished second in the 400m with a time of 47.79 seconds and secured sixth place in the 200m, clocking 21.40 seconds.
Ethan Sharpe also represented Bethune-Cookman with a seventh-place finish in the 200m and fifth place in the 400m.
On the women’s team, Kasie Ugeh achieved seventh place in shot put with a throw of 13.25 meters. Haely Grant placed seventh in the women’s 400m with a time of 57.03 seconds.
The upcoming invitational will be held at the Alachua County Sports and Event Center at Celebration Pointe, which features over 130,000 square feet of indoor space, including a portable banked track for competitions.
