1

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 21.

The Embry-Riddle men's golf team finished 12th in the Jay Jennison Cup hosted by Flagler College. After shooting a 289 and a 295 in the first two rounds on Monday, the Eagles capped off the tournament with a 302 in the third and final round on Tuesday for a total of 886.

The 517-yard par-5 11th was Embry-Riddle's most successful hole in the competition as the Eagles scored under par nine times, three of which came in the final round.

Ian Aldarondo (75-69-69=213) had one of his best collegiate tournaments. The senior notched consecutive sub-70 scores for the first time as an Eagle and finished in a tie for 16th with 13 pars and four birdies in the final round. Aldarondo's 213 also ties his career-best 54-hole score.

Pablo Robles went 70-72-78 (220) to close out his first tournament as a member of the Blue and Gold. John Triplett (71-79-77=227) used back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th holes of the round to move into third place on the team while Georgios Pachiadakis (73-75-80=228) followed close behind. Additionally, Vladimir Dieffenbach (82-84-78=244) finished well in his first tournament for Embry-Riddle as the freshman had his best round of the event on Tuesday.

Barry (837) won the tournament while Flagler (840) and Montevallo (846) finished second and third. Barton College's Bryson Boyette (201) claimed the top spot on the individual leaderboard. His birdie on the final hole broke the tie for first and gave him sole possession.

Embry-Riddle's next tournament is the Shark Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern from Oct. 4-5.
