Dieter Named Sunshine State Conference Golfer of the Week for Second Time in Career

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University issued the following announcement on Oct. 4.

For the second time in her Embry-Riddle career, Sophia Dieter has been named the Sunshine State Conference Female Golfer of the Week, presented by Jimmy John's. Monday's award, which Dieter first claimed on March 29, 2021, is also just the second time in ERAU women's golf history an Eagle has earned a SSC weekly honor. The SSC office announced its weekly award winners with Dieter's honor the 103rd weekly accolade in Embry-Riddle department history.

The Jupiter, Florida native tied the school record for lowest score at a 54-hole tournament with a 221 to finish tied for 12th at the Sea Best Jacksonville Classic last week. She posted an even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round, which tied her career low.

The senior, who is ERAU's single-season record holder with a 75.3 scoring average in 2019-20, will also become ERAU's career record holder once she registers enough rounds. Dieter has a 76.4 career scoring average through 28 rounds as a member of the Blue and Gold, needing just two more rounds to qualify for the career leaderboard. She also owns four of the program's 10-best 54-hole scoring tournaments in just over two seasons with ERAU.

The ERAU women's golf team will travel to Saint Leo, Florida to partake in the Saint Leo Invitational from Oct. 18-19 at the Lake Jovita Country Club.
