Marcus Garrett and Zion Harmon combined for 38 points as the Wildcats overcame a slow start to take down Florida National in the 2022-23 home opener, Monday night in Moore Gymnasium
How it Happened
The Wildcats (1-2, 0-0 SWAC) looked sluggish to start the game, as the Conquistadors (1-4) hit six of 12 first-half three-pointers to jump in front by as much as twelve in the games opening 20 minutes.
The Wildcats entered the half down 32-26, but quickly regrouped out of the break, outscoring Florida National 45-25 in the second half. The Wildcats shot 63 percent from the field after the break, draining 17 of 27 shots and 4-8 from deep on the way to the win.
Garrett and Harmon led the Wildcats with 19 points each. Harmon added 5 assists. Garrett finished 6-10 from the field and 6-7 from the free throw line. Harmon finished 7-12 and 3-4 from the line.
Dylan Robertson led the Wildcats with ten rebounds, along with eight rebounds, two steals, and a block. Damani McEntire grabbed six boards with four assists.

- The Wildcats scored 38 points in the paint. On defense, they allowed only 6 points in the paint.
