Rowing Has Solid Showing at Head of the Charles

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

The Embry-Riddle men's and women's four boats competed at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Massachusetts on Sunday. The Eagle men claimed sixth place out of 

40 boats in the Men's Collegiate Four event, while the women finished ninth out of 32 boats in the Women's Collegiate Fours event.

The men's boat featured Vaclav Kuncak, Guillermo Mazzilli, Ognjen Srbinovic, Nick Horn, and Alec Palmer. They were the 29th boat to start down the course and finished with a 

time of 17:12.294 to earn a sixth-place result. ERAU finished ahead of NCAA I competitors including Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Boston College, and Notre Dame.

The Eagle women that rowed were Irina Djurovic, Sofia Lorenzini, Bethany Thompson, Helena Schmidt, and Megan Byrne. They were the 12th boat on the course and finished in 

19:56.787 to place ninth overall. The Blue and Gold finished ahead of NCAA I competitors such as Clemson, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Liberty, and Washington.

 Embry-Riddle will be back in the water on Saturday, November 6, when they take part in the Dolphin Invitational in Jacksonville.
